L'autre monde is an experimental video based on a found Super8 material - thus the piece is called "The other's world". The title through the phonetical similitude also refers to the French pre-surrealistic poet Lautreamonte whose statement about a special category of esthetics became well-known and overquoted in the first decades of our century: "...it is as beautiful as the encounter of a sewing machine and an umbrella upon the operation desk...". The piece is an attempt to establish a connection between the frame and sequence, gesture and image, material and its effect in the technical environment of our fin de siècle.
