Description:
The setting of the work is an ironworks factory; the protagonist is an ironworks worker, who arrives from the suburb to his workplace in a nicely ironed suit. In the video etude, which lasts no more than five minutes, the cuts, which are sometimes slow, sometimes fast, follow fragments from Wagner's opera Siegfried and the repetitive system of sounds compiled from the noises of an industrial smithy.
In the world of the metro and the city's industrial quarter androgynous figures, familiar from mythology and originally bearing both male and female traits, appear again and again. By the end of the etude the viewer recognizes them as unmistakably male and female figures. (Evelin Páll)
