2003

Since 2003 I have collaborated with musicians on several of my works, in some instances documenting their performances or their studio work. In most cases the musical performances were created and performed specifically for the video. This was the case with StereoHeart, in which we see two beatbox performers and in the background between them the band-wave of the audio frequency generated by the joint production of two MCs. As in many of my later videos, the human body figures as a musical instrument ("human beatbox"), in this case an instrument which strives to imitate as precisely and as identifiably as possible the complicated rhythmic schemas of electronic music.
