Description:
I assert we are transitional beings:
no longer fit for the water not yet fit for the sky.
The tower built is a probe towards the sky
and the cave is melting the memories of our being as fish.
Our naivety is polluted by tiny oil-stains.
The work consists of two parts: the polythene tent built on the hill and the cellar situated below it. In the polythene tent which looks like a tower in the sky above Várhegy is placed an already realized work of Gabor Valcz: the ends of the bird feathers hanging from the top of the tower touch the color of a plate of glass, on which a thin layer of oil is floating and is lit from below by a searchlight. Light is discharged from the glass only when someone moves away the stick. From behind grey stones snow-colored wings are flying on an oil-rainbow between Pest and Buda. In the cellar-installation there are tubs, fish and white lights; the sound and visions of bathing, of the river and of dipping. (...) (G.V., T.Sz., Cs.L.)
