Biography:
Born in Budapest. Lives and works in Budapest. He received his M.Sc. in Electrical Engineering from the Budapest Technical University (BME) (1950) and his Ph.D. in automatic control from the Hungarian Academy of Sciences in 1958. He was a Chairman of the Board of the Computer and Automation Research Institute at the Hungarian Academy of Sciences (MTA) in Budapest (1964/85). He has been a Professor of the BME since 1969 and he was a Distinguished Affiliate Research Professor of George Mason University in Fairfax (Virginia, USA, 1992/93, 1993/94). He is an Editorial Board Member of seven international periodicals, he has more than 200 publications to his credit, including several books. (2011)
