Biography:
Curator. He is artistic director of DOX Centre for Contemporary Art (Prague), produced numerous exhibitions and publications on modern and contemporary art. He studied photography at FAMU (1967–72) and art history at Charles University in Prague (1969–73). Received his PhD from Charles University in Prague in 1982. In 1996-1998 Anděl became a director of Modern and Contemporary Art Museum of National Gallery in Veletržní palác in Prague. He is author of 'Alexandr Hackenschmied' (2000),'Avant-Garde Book Design. 1900-1950' (2002), Česká fotografie 1840-1950 (2004), 'The Avant-garde across Media: Josef Bartuška and the Linie Group' (2004), 'The New Vision for the New Architecture: Czechoslovakia 1918-1938' (2005),'Myšlení o fotografii I.'
