Biography:
Born in Miskolc. He studied in the Faculties of Art History and Hungarian at the Loránd Eötvös University of Sciences (ELTE) between 1958 and 1963. Has taught art history since 1963, as Professor of the Art History Department between 1991 and 2010. Working in the Art History Research Group at the Hungarian Academy of Sciences (Art History Research Institute) since 1974, and as Director of the Art History Research Institute (1991/2000).
