To speak of axonometry, a method of representation without a vanishing point, at a symposium tackling issues of perspective might sound out of tune with the harmonious choir of reports. Actually, it may as well be regarded a primaeval form of perspective: one of its types is usually referred to as “isometric perspective” in Anglo-American literature. Daniel Libeskind, Peter Eisenman and architects previously members of the New York Five team have applied axonometry almost exclusively. What is even more strikingly intriguing, dwelling-houses by the very same people are usually photographed to appear as if they were axonometric images or model photos. What sort of change in the view of the world may be behind this phenomenon? (...) (A.M.)
