The aim of the exhibition is to provide a comprehensive introduction to what is perhaps the most dynamically changing artistic novelty of the turn of the millennium, namely the artistic creations which essentially utilise the opportunities offered by the new technologies and which therefore belong under the generic concept of media-art. The exhibition also emphasises the work of the youngest artistic generation, which started its career in the 1990s. The establishment of the Informatics Faculty, and later of the Intermedia Department at the Hungarian Academy of Fine Arst was the outcome of the political changes in Hungary. The work that eventually succeeded in drawing those figurative works of art which were created with the help of technical media into the institutional framework of higher arts education began exactly ten years ago, in September 1990, and thereby opened up the opportunity of receiving university-level training in this field.
