Born in Berlin. He lived in Paris from 1966 to 2007, at present he lives and works in Ireland. He studied literature, sinology and history (related to the prehistoric era) in Cologne, Basel and London. He creates public artworks since 1967, does photography and writes texts since 1961, he creates installations, videos and makes performances since 1971. His public art works concentrate on certain symbolic acts and forms. His socially sensitive nature leads him to subjects like the problametic historical past, the critical housing situation of big cities or even daily political news. His current public space projects are: 'Square of the European promise' (Bochum, Germany, 2007/11) és 'amaptocare' (Dublin, 2003/14). (2011)
