Biography:
A philosopher, scholar of art and culture, author as well. Currently he has been Professor of Art History in the context of New Media at the Kunsthochschule für Medien Köln since 1995. He studied Philosophy, Art history and modern German Literature at the University of Tübingen (1972/76). He took his doctorate in communication design at the University of Wuppertal (1989) and B.Ed. also in Wuppertal (1991). Since 1988, he has been Advisory Co-Editor of the series "Conference: German Literary Theory and Cultural Studies" (General Editor: Prof. Liliane Weissberg, Wayne State University Press, Detroit, Michigan) and since 1996 an editor of the series "Medienkultur," (Springer Verlag, Wien/New York). He has been giving lectures in Aesthetics, Visual Communication, Architecture/Design, Perception Theories and the Aesthetics of New Media at the Höhere Schule für Gestaltung in Basel (1982/95) and has been co-lecturer in Aesthetics, Art and Cultural Theory, Creative Methodology and projects at the Höhere Schule für Gestaltung in Zürich, Department of Visual Communication (1991/95). He is author of numerous articles and book publications. (2011)
