He is author, filmmaker and musician. He teaches audiovisual media at Merz Akademie for Design, Stuttgart (2000- ). He studied political science and philosophy at Berlin's Freie Universität (1978/83) and filmmaking at Deutsche Film- und Fernsehakademie in Berlin (1978/83). He founded the post-punk, post-rock band Die Haut (1980/2000) and was the only permanent member of the band. While still being a student, he made several music videos and since 1979 as a filmmaker and director he has been realizing audiovisual works and he was dealing with issues from the area of popular culture in numerous documentary films and series. He was curator and lecturer of entitled '¡REMEDIATE! - Revolution der Audiovisionen' symposion (Stuttgart, 2010). (2011)
