Biography:
Born in Thuringia. He studied at the Technical University of Dresden (TU Dresden) in the field of high frequency technologies (1966/1971). Further on he had worked on research collaboratively with his former theses paper consultant Prof. Wunch (1978), he was a fellow researcher at the Department of Speech Communication (TU Dresden, 1982), associate professor (1986), in 1992 he was offered professorial status, and between 1994 and 1997 he was director of the Technological Acoustic Institution. He is guest professor at Tongji University Shanghai (2010). His research interests include sign- and systemtheories, he is mainly interested in the processing and utilizing of speech signs. (2011)
