Biography:
Born in Budapest. Film director, DP. Pursued his studies at the Technical University for Heavy Industry (1966-68) and the Academy of Theatre and Film (1970-74). He began making films as early as his high school years, trying his talent at the genres of amateur, experimental, documentary, feature and art films. He was DP at the Béla Balázs Studio (1972), and then, in parallel, at the Hungarian News and Documentary Studio (1975-82). As of 1983, he was director-DP at Mafilm, and studio manager of MTV Documentary Programs (1993/94). He is a member of Association of Hungarien Documentary Film Directors. He was a lecturer at Department of Cultural and Visual Anthropology, University of Miskolc in (1993/94). He created most film with his brother, Gyula Gulyás. Awards: Balázs Béla-Award (1988), a Chicago Ezüst-Award (1998), Kamera-Award (2004).
