Description:
The bioelectrical activity of the brain (EEG) can be used for controlling a cursor on a computer screen. The brain-computer-interface of the research team at the Technical University in Graz – first exhibited at comm.graz2000 – provides a new channel for communication, which in practice can be used for the restoration of handicapped motor functions. But to communicate by brain with the outside world, the person has to imagine the action willing to execute. The scientific as well as the artistic processes will be demonstrated. (R.K.)
