Description:
The dialogue of the video is based on Plato's Symposium, in which Diotima the priestess of Mantineia, explains to the philosopher Socrates the demonic nature of love and casts light on the fact that platonic love, contrary to public belief, is not devoid of sensuality. It is through the experience of earthly love that the individual can reach the love's higher stage, when love transcends desire, the other person. The goal is to acquire knowledge and virtue. With the help of numerous technical tools, the video blends the atmosphere of ancient Greek colonnades, the quivering shadow of Eros' motions, and Diotima's wisdom in an intensive visual world.
