Description:
The Romanian-born Hungarian painter Árpád Márton established the Art Colony of Gyergyószárhegy in 1974. In an interview conducted with him the conversation revolves around the art of the Hungarian minority. Márton is a member of the National Association of Romanian Artists, and since 1990 he has served as the president of one of its county branches. In his view, it is just as impossible for Transylvanian Hungarians to isolate themselves from Romanian art as it is for Romanian artists in contact with them to isolate themselves from Transylvanian Hungarian art.
