Description:
As characters in a family story with a happy ending, Gusztáv Hámos's elderly grandmother and her sister meet again after 80 years. The two sisters last saw each other before the First World War in Hungary, then after several decades of silence the threads of their lives reconnect around the turn of the millennium in Los Angeles. Because of the language barrier, they can hardly understand each other and need an interpreter. Given the airiness, the apparent carelessness, and the ever up-to-date nature of telecommunication, the moving reunion is made to look almost banal in the detailed broadcast on American television.
