Description:
Light-drawings made with long exposure times are seen in the film adaptation made in 1981 using an S8 camera, behind which the video recording made in the Berlin subway has been incorporated as the background. The latter, with regards to the relation of the two layers, serves in a symbolic sense as the background of the video. In a manner recalling slide shows, the names of world metropolises (Berlin, Moscow, Budapest, Warsaw, Athens, Cairo, Shanghai, Bangkok, Sydney, Tokyo, etc.) alternate on the wall of the subway, lines of which were divided in half by the Wall, much as was the city's structure.
