Born in Berlin. Lives and works in Tübingen. He is Professor for Theoretical Biochemistry at the University of Tübingen, he has lectured since 1969, became Docent in 1976 and Professor in 1994. He studied Medicine in Tübingen, Germany, and graduated as a Medical Doctor (1966). Worked in Ethology with Konrad Lorenz and in Theoretical Biology in Buffalo, New York. His two sources of inspiration are Konrad Lorenz and Bob Rosen. He has published about 250 scientific papers in various fields - including biogenesis (1971), dynamical automat (1972), artificial life (with an equation for a brain in 1974), chaos (since 1975), endophysics (since 1981), artificial persons (1996) and quasar theory.
