She is a mathematician and artist, Professor at the Faculty of Mathematics, University of Belgrade. In mathematics Marica Presic works in the fields of mathematical linguistics, universal algebra and mathematical logic. Her art is of contemplative nature, often inspired by mathematics, philosophy and metaphysics. In 1993 she founded 'Mathematical Art Workshop' meant to be a place where connections and relations between art and science would be explored. For many years she has been occupied with the organisation and production of projects both artistic and scientific (a.o. ’Erasing’, Belgrade, Museum of History of Yugoslavia, 2003/05).
