Biography:
Born in Budapest; lives and works in Sweden. He is an academic researcher and professor, specializing in the field of neurobiology. He completed his university studies in Hungary and Sweden, in medicine, physics, philosophy, law and neurobiology (1975-1988), then did his post-graduate work in Stockholm and Oxford where he was appointed professor in 1999. He is currently a researcher and professor in Stockholm. Since 1995, he has been an associate of the Hungarian Academy of Sciences working abroad. He has received numerous awards and prizes for his work, including the János Arany medal from the Committee for Hungarian Sciences Abroad (2005) and the Knight Cross Merit Badge of the Hungarian Republic (2007).
