Born in Castelnuovo della Daunia. He is senior researcher at Microsoft Research in Cambridge (2000- ). In 1990 he was proclaimed 'Alfiere del lavoro' by the Italian President Francesco Cossiga, and in 1996 he received his degree in Electronic Engineering from the University of Palermo. In 1996 he joined the Department of Engineering Science, University of Oxford and his thesis entitled 'Computer Vision' (1999). He has published several scientific articles on computer vision, computer graphics and forensic science. His research interests are in the area of video metrology and 3D reconstruction from single and multiple images. (2011)
