Born in Prague. Lives and works in Prague and Düsseldorf. He emigrated to West Germany (1969) and after his medical studies in Düsseldorf (1975/78) he traveled through the USA and did photographic works (1978/80). Ha was free-lance photographer at Monochrom magazine in Germany (1981/84). After graduating (MA) at Academy of Fine Arts in Düsseldorf under Nam-June Paik (1984/87) he was an assistant of Nam-June Paik (1987/89). He founded the New Media Department at the Academy of Fine Arts in Prague (1991) and was an associate professor there (1991/95). He has been adviser of several organizations a. o. new media adviser for Soros Center for Contemporary Arts in Prague (1991/95) and culture and technology adviser for Council of Europe in Strasbourg (1995-).
