Biography:
Born in Baja. Studied humanities at the University of Szeged, where he graduated and received his doctorate in 1972. His thesis discussed the architecture and architectural theory of Andrea Palladio. From 1985, he was Senior Assistant Professor and later Associate Professor of Art History at the Szeged University. He has received several fellowships, among others the Centro Palladio fellowship in Vicenza (1973) and the Villa I Tati in Florence (1985). He published essays and books on the subjects of the architecture and art theory of the Renaissance in Hungary and Europe. He also worked as an editor. Since 1995, he was Professor in the Faculty of Humanities at the Péter Pázmány Catholic University, where he was Head of the Italian Language and Literature Department (1998-2005). (2011)
