Biography:
Born in Düsseldorf. Lives and works in Cologne. Studied film at the Kunstakademie Düsseldorf (1972/74) and at the School of Visual Arts in New York (1986/87). She made a video lecture trip to the USA and Canada (1988/89) and took part in the program Artist in Residence on the Western Front, Vancouver. Edited the first edition of the video magazine 'Infermental' with Gábor Bódy who initiated this project in 1980. She received the German video art award of SWF/ZKM (1992). Since 2000, she has been contracted to teach editing and montage at the Media Design Academy in Düsseldorf. Her narrative works are all shaped by a socio-critical debate with the medium of electronics. She reflects on the perverted aesthetics of weaponry ('Achtung Fertig Los', 1978), transforms herself into an electronic being ('Neues Feuer', 1981) and the film 'I did it?'
