Biography:
He graduated at the Engineering Royal Institute of Technology in Stockholm (1960) where he is recently professor and lecturer in Applied Holography. He is author of the book 'Making and Evaluation of Holograms'. His creative and innovative work includes holographic portraiture; the holo-diagram, one of the first fundamental methods to make and evaluate holographs and holographic interferometry. His contributions to the field of optical metrology and holography, include invention of the interferoscope. He has received numerous international awards, including two awards of the Royal Institute of Technology: The Great Prize for Internationally Recognized Research on Holographic Measurement Methods and The Gold Medal for Pioneering work on Laser Metrology. His latest publication: 'Femtosecond imaging: Motion picture of short pulses' (Nature Photonics 5, 2011). (2011)
